FUNDING

Entitlement Funding for nursery places

From April 2024 the government is introducing funding for qualifying parents of children who will have attained 2 years of age on or before 31st March 2024. The funding will continue until the term after the child becomes 3, when the funding will be replaced by the 15/30 hours scheme for 3- and 4-year-olds who subsequently wish to attend our Foundation Unit – in preparation for school.

From September 2024 funding is being extended to qualifying parents of children who will have attained 9 months of age on or before 31st August 2024. The funding will continue until the term after the child becomes 2 i.e. when the 2-year-old funding outlined above will come into effect.

The new funding outlined above is for 15 hours per week of childcare and education only. It is for any sessions/days/weeks of attendance that fall within term time (i.e. 38 weeks per year). It does not include meals or any additional hours outside term time (i.e. 14 weeks per year) nor for any services/products outside the standard level of provision.

From September 2025 the new funding will be increased to 30 hours for qualifying parents of those children outlined above (ie those attaining, or already having attained 9 months or 2 years of age by August 2025.
All Government funding schemes are for 38 weeks of the year (coinciding with term time) and typically a full 8 hour day at the Prepatoria will have 6 hours of funding allocated to it.

As the Prepatoria is open all year round except for Christmas and Easter weeks, bank holidays and 2/3 staff professional development days (PD days), the funding is ‘stretched’ across the full year (or term/s for part-year attendance). Annually the ‘15 hour’ scheme therefore provides 11 hours of funding per week, whereas the 30 hours scheme provides 22 hours of funding per week.

All other attendance hours and additional sessions form the monthly invoice in accordance with our prevailing sessional rates which are reviewed annually reflecting inflationary and Government National Living Wage increases.
Other attendance patterns of fewer terms may incur slightly higher fees due to the relative number of funded and unfunded hours in the required period, which varies from term to term. Please see our fact sheet for more detail and how and when too apply for funding.

We shall also provide a detailed bespoke quotation for you during your tour upon completion of the Booking Registration Form either prior to or after your visit.

A confirmatory quote specific to your required session attendance pattern, including any personal discounts or offers* available to you at the time, will be provided upon completion of the Booking Registration.
This may be done form prior to or during your free tour or when attending one of our Open days, which may be booked here.
