How do you know if your child is especially clever, bright, gifted or talented in someway? Perhaps you watch other children playing and measure your child against them? But does that help? Afterall we are told not to compare children? If your child is particularly gifted or talented you really do want to ensure that they are being supported to achieve their full potential.

Here at Shrewsbury Prepatoria we understand that supporting each child individually is crucial to the long term outcomes for each child. Before we can support a child we need to know exactly what each child is capable of. When a child joins us we spend time getting to know them and as they settle into the Prepatoria we carry out an assessment of the child’s learning and development across the seven areas of learning {Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Communication  and Language, Physical Development, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design. }

If you would like to find out if your child is gifted or talented why not come along to one of our specially designed Stay and Play sessions. At the end of this hour long session, Jane Astbury, Owner and Teacher, will provide you with an overview of your child’s learning and development and provide you with useful tips and hints on how your child can best be supported to achieve his or her full potential. Sessions are held on Wednesday and Friday afternoons from 1.30pm. Spaces are strictly limited for these specialist sessions which must be booked in advance.  Please call or email to book.
