Pre-school children have loved learning about the Olympics and this has been made even more meaningful because one of our parents is an olympian! Carlos Parro represented his country, Brazil, in the Eventing, the children loved to watch the horses jumping the fences, unfortunately we didn’t quite manage to see Carlos compete due to the time differences. Children also enjoyed hearing about and watching sprint and cycle races.

Children’s interest led us to plan our own Olympic games for Wednesday 17th August. We were particularly thrilled when Carlos agreed to come along to support the event and when an other parent offered to bring her horse too we were so excited.

A program of events has been prepared and our chef has been busily making Olympic biscuits for children and visitors alike. Children will wear T.shirts they have designed themselves and of course no Olympic games would be complete without a medal ceremony. Look out for photographs in the local press and on facebook.
