All ready for play and learning.
I love to walk around the Prepatoria just before the children come in each day. Looking at the activities prepared by the team to capture children’s imagination always makes me proud. They work hard to think of lovely things for children to do and to make each area and activity look provoking and beautiful.
In pre-school this week’s story is Jack and the Bean Stalk. The teacher has prepared a tray with compost, tools and seeds. Children can dig, plant, explore and discover, in the classroom and at their own pace. Further planting activities, accompanied by the teacher, are planned for later in the week.
In toddlers staff have set out lovely coloured feathers beneath perspex, lots of different pains and brushes are placed near by.
By 8.30 am there is a small group of toddlers busily painting over the feathers, engaged in imaginative and creative play.
Another table near by has Duplo on, but this has been arranged attractively and separated into different colours. The effect is provoking.
