Living Eggs.
The eggs were delivered last Friday and we were told to expect chicks to begin to hatch by Wednesday. We were not disappointed! I arrived early this morning to find two fragile little chicks staggering about the incubator. As each team member arrived they made their way to the incubator too. We were all so excited and delighted! Honestly the adults were even more thrilled than the children. We now have five little chicks and children have literally watched them hatching out.
We have had some very funny comments too. One small boy, on seeing the first chick, said,’eat it?’
‘No you cant eat it Harry’ we said, ‘but you can hold them’. Another child refused to go home at lunch time until we agreed to have his cat ‘so I can have a chick’ We didn’t agree to that either.
